On Saturday, March 30, 2019, Beto O'Rourke addressed his hometown of El Paso, Texas, officially launching his candidacy for the 2020 Presidential Elections. The campaign kick-off rally was the first event of its kind in the history of the city. It took place on El Paso Street, which connects El Paso with Ciudad Juarez through the Paso del Norte International Bridge - a symbolic nod to the region's mutuality, a fundamental facet of his platform.
